Find someone who is one and ask them about it. That’s seriously how they prefer you to go about it.

I think you have to be invited by a mason to join the masons..and you have to ask to join they won’t ask you…look in phone book for a local lodge and give em a call…

If you see someone with a Mason sticker on their car, take the step forward to introduce yourself.

I would research the symbols as best you can via the internet as well as getting familiar with the satellite organizations such as Order of Eastern Star, Demolay, Job’s Daughters and Rainbow Girls. If you see those symbols on jewelry or a bumper sticker / medalian, then you can ask someone.

However, I feel the best option is to contact the state lodge office and ask about making a contact with your local lodge. If you have been related to a mason that helps. The state office will give you a lot of information about the accepted way to go about being asked to join.

First talk to a family member, friend, colleague or someone you already know to be a member. They will be able to explain to you what they can about the fraternity and help you find a suitable Lodge.

If you don’t know anyone at all who is a member, then get in touch with a Masonic Lodge in your area. Either phone, e-Mail or write to that office, telling them a little bit about yourself and your reasons for wishing to join.

Arrangements will be made to meet you socially to find out more about you, and to give you a chance to find out more about us.

You would then in due course be invited to meet a committee of members from a Lodge you might be joining, prior to being balloted for membership of that Lodge.

All being well, a date would then be fixed for your admission.

I didn’t know anyone who was a Freemason so did the latter. Turned out once initiated I did know a couple LOL

In the USA go to… and click on the state you live in. That will give you a link to the Grand Lodge for that state.

Contact them via email, phone, regular mail and they will help you.

Overseas, do a search for the Grand Lodge of your country and contact them.

It is a very simple process. Best of luck.

Kind regards

Since you have already studied up, if you don’t know someone who is a Mason, just call up a local Lodge, introduce yourself and let them know you are interested in becoming a brother.

Freemasonry does not solicit members, you must seek out initiation for yourself.

I can only repeat what others have said. If you do not know a Freemason (I bet you do) then contact your local Grand Lodge Sec. and he will be happy to help. The process does take time but it is worth it!
